The Mt. Meron Nature Reserve is the largest and highest nature reserve in the Galilee. A walk along the summit trail takes you along the highest path in the Galilee. The path encircles the peak of Mt. Meron (1,208 metres above sea level) and affords a birds-eye view of the Upper Galilee, South Lebanon and the Golan. The trail passes through rich Mediterranean woodland and undergrowth, where you may come across wildlife, especially birds. In spring, the area is covered with a spectacular display of flowers.
